Lady Lions Lose on Last-Second Shot

Tuesday, Dec 15 @ Batavia: After a slow first half the girls came back from a double-digit deficit to take the lead in the 4th quarter, only to lose on a last-second three by Batavia by a final score of 45-42. It was a hard fought game and the girls never played their best basketball but worked hard enough on defense to stay in it. The close game was decided by poor free throw shooting (5/16) and excessive unforced turnovers. The lady lions were led by Lindsey Blankenship with 13 ponts and 10 rebounds. The JV team came away with their first win being led by Cassidy Martin with 13 points. Next vs Western Brown @ Home Thursday Dec 17, it is a triple header starting with Freshmen at 4:30.

Bethel Tate Vs New Richmond Boys Basketball

The Varsity boys basketball team fought a tough battle against Bethel Tate on Saturday night. Bethel Tate is picked to win the conference this season. Our guys played tough and confident throughout the game keeping the score within six until 4 minutes left to go in the 4th quarter. A few things didn't go our way, and the score expanded to the final score of 44-62. The score, however, does not reflect the way that our kids played on Saturday. Our "Big Lion Nasty D", help leading scorers from Bethel Tate to 6 and 8 points until the final minutes of the game. Leading scorers from NR were Will Shoemaker with 14 and Shane Campbell with 10. The lions continue to improve and are working very hard in the process. We play a very physical and much improved Turpin High School on Saturday night. Game time is 7:30, hope to see you there!
